Wspaniała wiadomość dla fanów legendy hard rocka, istniejącej już ponad
40 lat grupy Whitesnake. "Unzipped" to efektowny album, na którym
znalazło się między innymi dużo rzadkich i niepublikowanych nagrań
zespołu Davida Coverdale'a w wersjach akustycznych.
Można posłuchać, jak w delikatniejszej, akustycznej odsłonie brzmią
niepublikowane wcześniej wersje "Summer Rain" i "Forevermore" z płyt
"Good To Be Bad" (2008) i "Forevermore" (2011). Jest też "Love Is Blind"
z solowego albumu Davida "Into The Light" (2000) czy niepublikowana
wcześniej piosenka "All The Time In The World".
"Początkowo nie byłem przekonany do wydawania akustycznych nagrań, ale
występy z Adrianem z 1997 i Dougiem Aldrichem z 2006 roku bardzo mocno
zapadły mi w pamięć. Przede wszystkim dlatego, że praktycznie pozwoliły
mi być sam na sam z publicznością" - wyznał Coverdale.
Album zamykają dwa utwory: "Wherever You May Go" i "Love Is Blind" w
wersji instrumentalnej - wyłącznie smyczkowej.
Na drugiej płycie zamieszczono zremiksowany akustyczny materiał z 1997r.
"Starkers In Tokyo", na którym piosenki Whitesnake David Coverdale
wykonał tylko z towarzyszeniem gitary Adriana Vandenberga i "Starkers
Live In New York" z 2008r. Nie zabrakło klasyków Deep Purple z czasów,
gdy David był wokalistą, chociażby "Soldier Of Fortune" czy evergreenów
Whitesnake bez prądu, jak "Is This Love" oraz "Here I Go Again".
